Happy Fall!

petaluma pear

As you may have noticed, it’s autumn! Over the coming weeks and months, our summer fruit pies will be slowly falling off the menu as we bring back pumpkin, sweet potato and pecan. Because we are in California, we will still have some summer fruits for a while longer but don’t be surprised if you walk in and an old favorite like peach is gone.

We’ve got hot cider and hot chocolate, pear pie and more!  Look out for upcoming holiday pie tastings, too…

First Weekend of Fall!

]It sure doesn’t feel like it, but it is now fall. That’s right,Wednesday September 23 is the Autumnal Equinox. And like the summer, some of our favorite summer pie ingredients are soon departing as well. That means more apple, pear, pecan, pumpkin and more.

Hey, it’s also National Great American Pot Pie Day, so come and get some pot pie!

Friday is Pie Day October 17

Wow, it is already the middle of October! Summer is finally over. We are pretty much done with peach, except for a few hand pies, and nectarines are long gone. Rhubarb is dwindling fast, but we still have Triple Berry. That means it is time for our fall and winter pies to come out. Pies like Apple, Pear, Pecan, Pumpkin and Sweet Potato. Speaking of Sweet Potato, we will be sampling our Sweet Potato Pie for the first of our holiday pie tasting events this Saturday, October 18 from noon to three (or until we run out).

Hey! Did you know we have a new savory pie? That is right, we’ve been working on a Pulled Pork Pie for you. It is made with pork from Devil’s Gulch Ranch, caramelized onions and our own bourbon barbecue sauce. And if you haven’t tried our Veggie Empanada, that’s new, too!

Happy New Year!

Welcome to the year 5775! Shana tovah u’metukah, Everybody! It is Rosh Hashanah and we wish you “a good and sweet new year.” If we baked bread we would make you some Challah, but it looks like you’ll have to settle for delicious sweet pies or some nice fruit.

We still have summer fruits, but we are getting word that peaches and nectarines will end earlier this year and our rhubarb is in short supply. As September marches on, we will see our fruit pie selection dwindle and we will see more pumpkin, sweet potato, apple, quince, figs and pear! We are a little early for meyer lemon, though. For the moment, we still have plenty of delicious summer fruit! Hopefully we can stretch the rhubarb so everyone can get some.

In other pie news, you probably have only the rest of this week to catch our
Gravenstein Apple Pie, as the season is ending quickly this year and we will be switching to Red Romes shortly. We just picked our first asian pears, so expect to see yet another taste of autumn later this week. Many of our summer fruit pies are still going strong, so even though some folks are starting school already, you can still taste summer.
