RAIN!

RAIN!If you haven’t noticed yet, it is raining a lot. We are so happy our local farms will finally get some much needed water. As you all know we will be needing many more days and nights like this in order to get out of the drought. But while we celebrate the rain, we understand that you might want to stay inside where it is warm and cozy. But you know what else is warm and cozy? PIE! We have a great selection of hot savory pies for you to eat. We also made you some nice hot vegetarian soup, we have hot chocolate, hot tea, hot coffee and hot mulled apple cider! So come on down and warm yourself up at Petaluma Pie!

Pie of the day is CAKE!

That’s right, folks, the pressure has been too much for us. Everyone always asking if we have cake, when we are clearly a pie shop. We have finally broken down and made  the cake people have been clamoring for… So come in out of the rain and get a nice hot cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate or cider and a steaming hot slice of cake!

Our newest pie is cake!

In fact, we are soon going to be replacing all of our pies with cakes. We have a whole line of sweet and savory cakes in the works.

Don’t be an April Fool! Eat pie instead of cake – EVERY DAY!

Looks Like Rain

Thankfully we have been getting more rain and it looks like we will have more coming this week! If you find it to be chilly and dreary, warm up with pie and soup, hot chocolate, tea, coffee and more!chicken pot pie with salad

When it rains it pours!

rainy day chickenThankfully it is still raining. “They” say we could get 8 inches of rain this weekend and more is coming this week! We hope you are safe out there on the roads and not getting flash flooded. If you need to warm up, come in for some hot savory pies and minestrone soup and maybe a hot chocolate or coffee or tea and watch the rain come down in Helen Putnam Plaza.

Musquee De Provence

First off, it is so cold, but it is bright and sunny out and we have hot apple cider, hot chocolate, hot coffee and hot tea, as well as plenty of hot savory pies for you including Collard Greens with Bacon and Black Eyed Peas. So get out of the house, you’ll feel better (especially once you’ve had pie)!

This year we grew a new pumpkin (actually, an old pumpkin, Musquee De Provence), from seeds we picked up at the seed bank on the corner, Baker Creek Seed Company. We only got a few of them and the biggest, heaviest one grew right into the wire fence we used to support it. So when it came time to harvest it, we had to use it right away.

This is one huge and heavy pumpkin (we forgot to weigh it, but it was heavy). We cut it into chunks and roasted it 2 ways, sweet and savory.

Today, we have the sweet. Chunks of Musquee De Provence pumpkin roasted with brown sugar cinammon and butter mixed with cranberries and topped with a pecan crumble! This is a limited edition pie and it is very delicious. Get it while you can!

Friday is Pie Day December 14th

potpie_steakIt’s Friday and kind of cold! What better way to warm up than with a HOT PIE? And we have so many to choose from including Cheeseburger, Chicken Empanada, Spinach and Feta, Potato and Pea Samosa as well as our pot pies, Chicken, Steak and Mushroom and Veggie (vegan, even as a take and bake).

As always, if you have your heart set on a certain special pie, call ahead or order online to make sure we have one baked just for you. Or you can just take your chances with what is available OR you can take home a frozen pie and bake it yourself.

Other ways to heat up at Petaluma Pie include hot chocolate, hot coffee, hot tea or a heated fruit pie (you can always add ice cream).

We are open until 9 tonight. Our new neighbors, Speakeasy, will be hosting some music in the plaza at 7 tonight. Put on something warm and check out the Highway Poets outside our shop.
