Veterans Day

This Tuesday November 11th is Veterans Day. Originally called Armistice Day to commemorate the ending of World War I,  “The war to end all wars” on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. Unfortunately, we still had wars after WWI. In 1954, after World War II and the Korean War, the holiday was changed to Veterans Day. Since then the US has sent veterans to other wars are conflicts including Vietnam, Iraq and Afghanistan. After the draft ended in 1973, we moved to an “all volunteer” military, which means we have a much smaller portion of the population serving for more extended tours in our modern wars. It can be easy to forget if you are not directly affected, but we are still a nation at war and we are still making new veterans every day.

This Veterans Day, Petaluma Pie Company is giving a 20% discount to all veterans. Just let us know when you place your order.
