Nuclear Remembrance Day: Building Toward a Nuclear-free World

Nuclear Remembrance Day

On the 71st Anniversary of the bombing of Hiroshima, Japan, the Peace Crane Project and Fukushima Response will hold a remembrance for all the victims of the nuclear cycle, including victims from Hiroshima, Nagasaki, Fukushima, Chernobyl, nuclear testing down winders, Marshall Islanders, uranium miners and so many more.  There will be a hanging of the Mayors for Peace posters, free calligraphy workshop by Sachiko Ueno, free origami workshop by origami master Henry Kaku, and Shakuhachi flute by Elliot Kallen.

This event takes place on Saturday August 6th at 11:00 am in Helen Putnam Plaza in Downtown Petaluma, just outside our shop. We will be offering a sample of a “peace” of pie.
