Happy Solstice, Everybody! The days are getting longer now!
We have officially stopped taking orders for pickup on Friday December 23rd and Saturday December 24th.
We will bake as many extra pies as we can, which will be available on a first come, first served basis.
We will be open from 9 am to 4 pm on Christmas Eve, Saturday December 24th. and will be closed on Christmas Day.
We will be open our usual hours on Monday the 26th.
Thank you for supporting pie and thank you for your understanding!
As you may have noticed, it’s autumn! Over the coming weeks and months, our summer fruit pies will be slowly falling off the menu as we bring back pumpkin, sweet potato and pecan. Because we are in California, we will still have some summer fruits for a while longer but don’t be surprised if you walk in and an old favorite like peach is gone.
We’ve got hot cider and hot chocolate, pear pie and more! Look out for upcoming holiday pie tastings, too…
Hey Everybody, I know it was just Thanksgiving, but did you realize that there are fewer than three weeks before Christmas? And since we stop taking orders on December 22nd that means there’s really less than 2 weeks to order your pies for Christmas or the very beginning of Kwanzaa.
Whether you want to hurry up and order pies for the remainder of Chanukah, get your Christmas or Kwanzaa order in on time or just order for your holiday party, it is as easy as going online to www.petalumapies.com.
Well, that is it. We have closed down ordering for the week of Thanksgiving. If you were one of the many people who placed an order for Wednesday the 25th, we are open from 9am to 4pm to pick up your orders.
But if you missed the deadline, don’t despair. We will be baking as many extra pies as we can, which will be available on a first come, first served basis (sorry, we can’t reserve them).
Please do not try to call the store. We will not be able to answer most calls. If you need to contact us urgently, you can reach us at pie (at) petalumapie (dot) com or come to the shop.
We will be closed on Thanksgiving Day but will re-open on Friday for you.
Thank you for your understanding and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.
February 2nd is the Catholic holiday of Candlemas. In France, they make Galette Des Rois, which is kind of like a King Cake, only more like pie. Often something is hidden inside, a baby, a bean or maybe the safest version – an almond. Today as part of our ongoing National Pie Month Celebration, the pie is Galette Des Rois, a buttery crust filled with almond cream. If you find a whole almond in your slice, you get a crown!
Welcome to the year 5775! Shana tovah u’metukah, Everybody! It is Rosh Hashanah and we wish you “a good and sweet new year.” If we baked bread we would make you some Challah, but it looks like you’ll have to settle for delicious sweet pies or some nice fruit.
Pomegranates, apples and honey are also great foods to eat for Rosh Hashanah
It’s not a party without pie!
Hey Everybody! Look at that, it is just about New Year’s Eve. Don’t forget the pie!
The deadline to order your pie conveniently online is Monday December 30th (you can call us, too, but when it is busy in the shop and the phone keeps ringing, you may have to leave a message). If you can’t place an order ahead of time, we will do our best to make extra pies for the last minute crowd.
We will be open on New Year’s Eve from 10 to 5 and we will be open on Wednesday, January 1st, New Year’s Day from 10 to 5. Come on down and have some pie for lunch and more pie for dessert (ice cream and hot chocolate, too).
We have soup, salad, tea and cider too (don’t let a New Years resolution stop you from coming in)!
