Boo! It’s Halloween and we are busy getting ready for the scary mob of trick or treaters coming to Downtown for the Trick or Treat Trail. We have made little cookies for little people and extra pumpkin pie and it looks like the rain will clear up in the afternoon for the Trick or Treat Trail.
Today is also the last day of the Occidental Farmers Market where they will be having their 10th Annual Harvest Market Festival.
We are open until 9! If you need something special or particular for your Halloween Festivities, call us at 707-766-6743 or 7-MMM-PIE to make sure we can have it for you!
Tomorrow, Saturday November 1st, we will be having another Holiday Pie Tasting, where you can try our Shaker Meyer Lemon Pie from noon to three or until we run out.
First off, it is so cold, but it is bright and sunny out and we have hot apple cider, hot chocolate, hot coffee and hot tea, as well as plenty of hot savory pies for you including Collard Greens with Bacon and Black Eyed Peas. So get out of the house, you’ll feel better (especially once you’ve had pie)!
This year we grew a new pumpkin (actually, an old pumpkin, Musquee De Provence), from seeds we picked up at the seed bank on the corner, Baker Creek Seed Company. We only got a few of them and the biggest, heaviest one grew right into the wire fence we used to support it. So when it came time to harvest it, we had to use it right away.
Today, we have the sweet. Chunks of Musquee De Provence pumpkin roasted with brown sugar cinammon and butter mixed with cranberries and topped with a pecan crumble! This is a limited edition pie and it is very delicious. Get it while you can!
Hey, what happened? It’s Friday again! Going somewhere this weekend? You need pie. Staying in town this weekend? Coming to town this weekend? Stop in for pie. If you are coming to our haunted pie shop on Halloween, BEWARE! There will be HUNDREDS of scary little munchkins descending upon downtown for the Halloween Trick or Treat Trail through Downtown Petaluma Thursday October 31st, 3:00pm – 5:30pm. We will be providing hundreds of little treats to these children (under 12 years old).
Be there or be scared!
We also had two winners of the “Guess the Weight of the Pie” contest. One pie was Pumpkin and weighed 2 lbs 1.25 oz, the second pie was Strawberry Rhubarb and weighed 2 lbs 6 oz. I don’t have their names handy, but here they are with their pies:
