If you are getting married this year, congratulations! If you need pie for your wedding, you’d better start planning now. Pretty much as soon as the new year started, we have been getting a huge influx of wedding inquiries. We can only do so many each weekend, so you’ll want to stake a claim as soon as you can.
Where to begin? It’s easy, just go to our website and fill out our handy Event Inquiry form and we will get in touch with you to answer all of your wedding pie questions.
As you may have noticed, it’s autumn! Over the coming weeks and months, our summer fruit pies will be slowly falling off the menu as we bring back pumpkin, sweet potato and pecan. Because we are in California, we will still have some summer fruits for a while longer but don’t be surprised if you walk in and an old favorite like peach is gone.
We’ve got hot cider and hot chocolate, pear pie and more! Look out for upcoming holiday pie tastings, too…
Did you notice the days getting a little shorter and the chill in the air in the evenings? Some of you are even back in school! That is right, it is the tail end of summer. If you want to hang on to that summer feeling just a little longer, we’ve got you covered. While we have gotten word that peaches will be ending a few weeks earlier than normal this year, summer fruit pies are still happening, like peach, nectarine blackberry, triple berry and strawberry rhubarb. And we have ice cream. If you are feeling more autumnal, we’ve got apples again and we even have apple pecan crumble with salted caramel. Pear pie is just around the corner.

Gravenstein Apples start in late July!
We are on our last box of storage apples. Organic apples from the USA were picked last fall and they have held up under refrigeration, but we have so much summer fruit happening right now and we just don’t agree with buying apples from Argentina or Chile. We will have apple pie again in late July when the local Gravenstein apples start. You can enjoy our various apple pies for maybe the rest of the week.
But what about the fourth of July? In 1776 they didn’t have refrigerators and they didn’t have easy access to fruit from the southern hemisphere. They were actually still fighting the American Revolutionary War, which didn’t end until 1783. Chances are, if they had pie on July 4th, it wasn’t apple.
But do not fret! We have SO MUCH FRUIT! Peaches, Berries, Rhubarb (not really fruit but…), Apricots!!! And just think of how exciting it will be when apples come back.
Hey Everybody, Thanksgiving is right around the corner and that means the deadline to order pies is coming up even sooner!
Sunday November 22nd is the deadline to order and pies can be picked up at our shop between 9am and 4pm on Wednesday November 25th, the day before Thanksgiving.
You can place your orders online at www.petalumapies.com , in the shop or on the phone, but after Sunday November 22nd, we will turn off online ordering and we will not be answering the phone to take orders.
As always, we will work to make extra pies for last minute shoppers, but they will be available on a first come, first served basis only.
Thank you for your understanding and have a wonderful holiday season.
Pies of the future. Quince is in full bloom right now.
Hi Everybody, we are just about recovered from last week’s Super Pi Day extravaganza. We expected it to be busy, but not THAT busy! Thanks again!
It has been feeling like spring for quite a while now, but today, Friday (always pie day) March 20th is the Spring Equinox! For your added enjoyment there will also be a solar eclipse (not visible from here, though) and a SUPER MOON. Looks like the weather is going to be nice and spring like (no rain, though), so come on down and celebrate spring with pie! We are open until 9 on Friday and Saturday.

Brandy Mince Pie
Hey Everybody! Where has the time gone? Chanukah starts Tuesday night, the Winter Solstice is Sunday and Christmas is NEXT THURSDAY. While we don’t really have a deadline to order Chanukah or Solstice pies, we do get slammed for Christmas, so just like Thanksgiving, you must get your order in by the end of the day this Sunday December 21st to pick up Wednesday December 24th before 5pm. You can place your order online, on the phone or in the store. Online orders are best for us as they keep the phone and our staff from getting tied up as we get ready for this busy time. If you need to call it in, our number is 707-766-6743 (7mmm-PIE).
Meanwhile we continue to get much needed rain but don’t let that scare you away from coming downtown. While you are doing your holiday shopping, stop in and warm up with some nice Mushroom Barley Soup and a hot pie with some hot mulled apple cider, hot tea, hot chocolate or hot coffee. Don’t want to leave Petaluma Pie? Do your holiday shopping inside our store! We have fancy chocolate, candles, t-shirts, coffee cups, jewelry, Petaluma Pie gift cards and more! We are hosting a COTS Giving Tree in our shop as well. The tree is decorated with ornaments showing specific gift requests from COTS clients who need a little extra help this holiday season. Choose one and donate a gift.
