We’ve got your butter and eggs right here!

Hey Everybody, Butter and Egg Days are here again! As usual we will be right in the middle of the fun here in Helen Putnam Plaza. Just about everything we make has butter and eggs in it and all of our butter and eggs comes from Petaluma! And don’t forget the Antique Faire on Sunday. While they are forecasting a chance of rain, it should not interfere with any of the weekend’s festivities.

Pie of the day is CAKE!

That’s right, folks, the pressure has been too much for us. Everyone always asking if we have cake, when we are clearly a pie shop. We have finally broken down and made  the cake people have been clamoring for… So come in out of the rain and get a nice hot cup of coffee, tea, hot chocolate or cider and a steaming hot slice of cake!

In fact, we are soon going to be replacing all of our pies with cakes. We have a whole line of sweet and savory cakes in the works.

Don’t be an April Fool! Eat pie instead of cake – EVERY DAY!

April Showers…

Brings Asparagus! Did we mention that we have asparagus? Before there was even a plan for a pie shop, we dug two long trenches, filled them with rich compost and asparagus crowns. We weeded and tended them, adding more compost every year and now, in year four of these asparagus beds, we can finally  harvest freely. This warm weather and spring rain are really making them grow. They seem to shoot up 6 inches a day! In case you haven’t tried it yet, have Asparagus, Leek and Egg Pie with fresh dill and fromage blanc from Cowgirl Creamery on the menu these days and very soon we will have other tasty asparagus options for you.
